The Korean edition of ODDA is a ray of light coming from our inner sensitivities. A self-exploration of dreams and paradigms touching our deepest desires. A rebellion of emotions that are profoundly attached to references of the past which shaped us along our existence.

All of these sentiments, to us, are connected to the meaning of Korea. A vibrant and exciting country where culture is exalted by a new wave of creatives and a youth open to exploring the future in their own way.  Breaking rules where gender doesn't matter anymore and freedom and self-expression has come to stay. Korea is teaching the world several lessons, one of them is working hard while dedicating time to learn and shaping yourself  as you envision, never compromising who you are. In this issue we wanted to connect with those people who are adding something special to the culture we consume, some of them coming from random and opposite realities, but always living on their own terms, just like our three cover stars.

Actor/Skater/Entrepreneur Evan Mock has been shaping his future in the last could of years. Part of the iconic TV show “Gossip Girl” reboot, Evan has collaborated with many of the most renowned names within the fashion industry from Virgil Abloh to Simon Porte Jacquemus as well as launching his own brand “Sorry in Advance.” In this issue Evan comes full circle with his conversation with Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk. The pair explore their mutual love of the freedom that skating gives them, how Tony Hawk is giving back to a new generation of skaters from around the world and how important it is to always live your dreams to the fullest.  Another cover star is model Stella Maxwell, who is probably one of the most striking names in the fashion industry. With an extensive career, Stella has defined herself as a progressivist, working hard to empower women and give them an even stronger voice on the world stage. She is also educating others about exploring an expanded interpretation as  to what the word “beauty” means. In her cover story conversation She talks with her good friend King Princess about hot button topics like sexuality and gender.

For our third and final cover we team up with rapper and actor One. At 27 years old he has followed his instincts and founded his own record label PRIVATE ONLY. With many plans on the table One is beginning a new path towards his future as an artist deciding what steps he wants to take on his own, as well as with other artists such as Tinashe or Iggy Azalea

This issue also counts other exciting features  like and interview with  Korean American queer writer Alexander Chee. He was  named one of 100 most influential people by OUT magazine and counts several awards on his mantle for his debut novel “Edinburgh”. Then there is Nail artist Park Eunkyung whose endless creativity has made die hard fans out of people like singer Rose from Blackpink. Artist Kwangho Lee is spending his life shaping familiar, everyday materials into unexpected and original creative propositions that display the beauty of the world’s endless possibilities.

Andie MacDowell, Richard Malone and Roger Vivier’s creative director Gherardo Felloni are also protagonists of this issue acting as a bridge between ODDA Global and ODDA Korea, providing a 360 visibility of identity and the core of the magazine.

ODDA Korea will continue to evolve with each issue, exploring  different formats and shapes as it shapes the future of the magazine. Always engaging in a dynamic evolutión, built on attraction and a collectable identity that we cultivate to define the magazine. For this issue, we believe in the visual, in the power of a message or feelings you can catch from an image. What is inspiring you the most?
